Location Look: The ‘actual’ Sweet Shop

As you might have guessed, “The Sweet Shop” had one location that was perhaps more important than all the others.  Finding the right sweet shop however, proved to be a difficult task.  Those of you who have followed the blog from the very beginning may have seen our location scouting video, but that only told a small part of the story.  We scoured the country, looking at literally dozens of potential sweet shop locations, before we found our perfect village sweet shop.

Sweet Memory’s – located at Bourton on the Water, Gloucestershire

“Sweet Memory’s” is a fabulous old fashioned sweet shop in the heart of a gorgeous Cotswold village, run by lovely helpful people who were so good to us, so as you can imagine we couldn’t have been happier with our choice.  We often shot as early as 4am, as Bourton is a busy village and we sometimes needed to avoid the crowds – and the wonderful people who run “Sweet Memory’s” were great about us taking over their shop for a few days – and yes, we did buy lots of sweets!  We would recommend a trip to Bourton and a visit to “Sweet Memory’s” to anyone who loves sweets and a great day out, and our thanks go to the great people at “Sweet Memory’s” and the community of Bourton-on-the-Water.  P.S. the spelling of “Memory’s” does make sense – but you have to think about it…

Internal Publicity Day

In the midst of shooting “The Sweet Shop”, the cast and crew have taken a break from filming to carry out an internal publicity day. This saw the major cast members get together to sign limited edition t-shirts (for future competitions) and posters, have “poster photos” taken, radio interviews and lots lots more (including munching on a wide variety of food it turned out). For those interested in seeing Gemma Atkinson, Susan Hoecke, Matthew Lewis and Vanessa Haywood strut their stuff, click play below!
